RUOMEI / BUYER’S GUIDE

Single-Colour or RGB LED Neon: What Does Your Brand Sign Need?

If your logo should look the same every day, start with a fixed-colour brief. If staff need to change the lighting for different occasions, describe those changes before choosing RGB. More effects are useful only when the project needs them.

Real product photo showing several colours in one logo. A still image does not establish whether the colours can change or which controller is fitted.

1. Several colours do not necessarily mean RGB

A sign can show red lettering and a white outline without either area changing colour. That is different from a sign whose lighting changes when a user selects a new setting. Do not infer colour-changing capability from a multicoloured product photo.

For a quotation, tell us whether each part stays at one colour or needs to change. If only one part should change while the rest stays fixed, mark that area on the artwork. It needs a specific configuration review.

2. Choose around the way the sign will be used

Question Fixed-colour brief RGB brief
What should the sign do? Keep the agreed illuminated colour or colour layout. Change colours using an agreed control setup.
What does the buyer approve? Each illuminated area and its intended colour. The required settings and the appearance in those settings.
Who operates it? Confirm switching and any dimming needs. Identify who changes settings and how.
What cannot be assumed? That a dimmer is automatically included. That animation, synchronisation or every colour is included.

Neither option is automatically better for every brand. Compare quotations with the same artwork, size, construction and agreed functions; the word “RGB” alone is not a complete specification.

3. Approve the illuminated colour, not just a screen image

If a brand colour matters, send the reference and identify the parts where a close match is important. A colour shown on a monitor or in a photograph is not enough to approve the illuminated result. Review the proposed sample in the intended viewing conditions.

For RGB, identify the settings you actually plan to use. Do not assume a controller can reproduce an exact corporate colour simply because it offers colour changes. Ask us to assess the target before placing the bulk order.

4. Separate dimming, colour changes and animation

Dimming is a request to adjust brightness. Changing colour is another function. A sequence in which different parts light up at different times is a further requirement. A remote control does not, by itself, describe all three.

RUOMEI can review single-colour, RGB, dimming, remote-control and programmable lighting requirements for custom neon projects. The actual combination depends on the agreed design and configuration. If you have an effect in mind, send a short reference video and explain which part you want to reproduce.

5. Check how staff will use the controls

A useful sample review includes the person who will operate the sign. Ask them to switch it on, select the agreed setting and adjust the brightness if dimming is included. Record the controls supplied with the approved configuration.

If the sign must return to a particular setting after power is interrupted, or several signs must change together, state that requirement in advance. These behaviours need confirmation; they are not implied by an RGB label. Avoid adding unapproved controllers after the sample has been agreed.

6. Send the artwork and the lighting behaviour together

Send your vector artwork, size and quantity, then add a short description: fixed colours, selectable colours, dimming or a particular sequence. If only a photo is available, we can start with an estimate and review the accurate price after receiving the vector file.

Include the target country and intended use so the supply, plug and other configuration details can be reviewed. Our custom LED neon sign options are a starting point; your approved artwork and function list define what the order should do.
