RUOMEI / BUYER’S GUIDE

Light Box or LED Neon for a Detailed Logo? Start with the Artwork

If your logo depends on printed colour areas and illustrated detail, start by reviewing a light box. If the identity is carried by illuminated lettering and shaped lines, review LED neon too. The useful comparison is what each proposal keeps from your artwork at the intended size.

This shaped light box carries an illustrated tiger, lettering and a colour field on one face. The photograph is a product example, not a measured colour or brightness comparison.

  1. Mark the details that cannot change
  2. Review a light box when the image itself matters
  3. Review neon when the lettering and lines carry the identity
  4. Compare the same requirements
  5. A combined design may fit the brief
  6. Send one brief for both options

1. Mark the details that cannot change

Send the complete logo, then identify what makes it recognisable: letter shapes, a character illustration, a background colour, small wording or the relationship between those parts. A supplier should not simplify a feature that your brand needs without showing you the change.

Include the intended width and height. A detail that works in a large drawing still needs review at the finished size. Ask to see the proposed artwork at that size before choosing the manufacturing route.

2. Review a light box when the image itself matters

A light box can carry printed graphics as part of its face. That makes it a direction worth reviewing when the design combines an illustration, colour areas and supporting text. The tiger example shows how those elements can sit together in a shaped product.

Review the printed appearance with the lighting on and off. Ask which areas will transmit light and which are intended to remain darker. Do not assume a photograph proves an exact brand colour match or that every small word will be readable at the planned viewing distance.

RUOMEI reviews the size, structure and lighting together. A light box is not limited to a rectangular outline, and changing the outline does not settle the face construction.

3. Review neon when the lettering and lines carry the identity

LED neon gives the visible lettering or linework a direct role in the illuminated design. That does not mean all neon uses a standard strip bent around a rough outline.

RUOMEI’s 3D-carved acrylic linework can follow approved logo geometry, including shaped strokes and graphic elements. Its feasibility still depends on the actual artwork and agreed size. Our confirmed minimum stroke guideline is 5 mm for carved acrylic and 6 mm for silicone; meeting that number alone is not approval of every detail.

Ask which parts become illuminated linework, which remain printed or unlit, and what backing stays visible. Compare the proposed result with your logo rather than choosing from a material name alone.

A different artwork shown as carved acrylic neon linework. Look at the shaped lettering and stag graphic. These two product photos illustrate different approaches; they are not a controlled comparison of the same logo.

4. Compare the same requirements

Your priority Light box proposal LED neon proposal
Illustration and colour areas Review the complete face artwork and lit appearance. Identify what becomes linework and what needs another treatment.
Distinctive lettering Check its reproduction within the face graphic. Check stroke shapes, spacing and visible backing.
Small supporting text Review readability at the agreed size and distance. Review whether to illuminate, print or revise it.
Installation and budget Compare complete configurations at the same size, quantity and use conditions.

There is no useful universal price or brightness winner without those details. Ask for an itemised proposal where the alternatives differ.

5. A combined design may fit the brief

Some artwork needs both a graphic face and selected neon elements. RUOMEI can review light boxes combined with LED neon. This is a separate configuration to assess, not a feature included in every light box.

Mark exactly what you want to light as neon and what should stay in the graphic face. Keep the proposal readable: adding another lighting effect does not automatically make the logo clearer. Approve the combined appearance and construction together.

6. Send one brief for both options

Send the logo, intended size and quantity, plus the features that must remain unchanged. A reference photo can start the discussion; vector artwork helps us review neon accurately. Include a location photo if the background or viewing position affects the choice.

You can ask us to compare custom LED light boxes and custom LED neon signs against the same brief. We will identify the points that need confirmation before a final design is approved.
