RUOMEI / BUYER’S GUIDE
Custom Sign Lead Time: Production Complete Is Not the Arrival Date
If your signs are needed for an opening or rollout, give us the required arrival date first. Then separate design approval, sample work where needed, bulk production and transport. A quoted production period should not be read as a door-to-door delivery promise.

1. Name the date you actually need
“We need it in three weeks” leaves an important question open: ready at the factory, received at a warehouse or installed at the store? State the destination and the latest acceptable arrival date. Give the opening or event date separately if installation has to happen beforehand.
If several sites need stock, list their quantities and dates. A single deadline for the whole project can hide an earlier requirement at one location. These are planning inputs, not a confirmed delivery commitment.
2. Keep the stages separate
| Stage | What needs to be clear |
|---|---|
| Artwork and configuration | Who approves the design, size, construction and electrical requirements? |
| Sample, if required | What must be made, reviewed and approved before bulk work? |
| Bulk production | When are the deposit and necessary approvals complete? |
| Transport and receipt | What destination and transport arrangement does the quotation cover? |
| Local installation | What time does your installer need after receipt? |
A shorter factory period cannot recover time that has not been allowed for approvals or onward delivery. Ask for the expected production completion date and discuss transport separately.
3. Confirm when the production clock starts
RUOMEI uses the later of payment receipt and completion of the necessary approvals. For samples, that means receipt of the sample fee plus approval of the artwork and key configuration. For bulk production, it means receipt of the deposit, confirmation of order specifications and any necessary sample approval.
A payment instruction is not the same event as funds received. Likewise, agreeing the logo colour does not necessarily approve the complete configuration. Ask us to identify any open points so both sides know what remains before the start conditions are met.
4. Allow for the sample decision and the date basis
A new customer can start with a paid sample before deciding on bulk production. If that is your route, include time to receive and review it. Do not schedule the bulk order as though approval will happen on the day the sample is finished.
Our sample timing uses calendar days excluding Chinese national public holidays. The bulk quotation states its date basis separately. Ask whether a quoted period refers to production alone, and which dates are excluded, rather than assuming all suppliers count days the same way.
If new testing or project-specific documents are needed, raise that early. Any additional scope, cost and timing needs separate confirmation.
5. Reconfirm the schedule after a change
A late size change, different material or revised electrical requirement may affect the work still to be done. Send the final change list and request a revised schedule before relying on the original date.
RUOMEI reconfirms timing after customer changes or delayed approvals. We do not simply promise to move the finish date by the exact number of delayed days. Keep the approved revision and the latest confirmed schedule together so your purchasing and installation teams use the same information.
6. Send a deadline brief we can review
- Product reference or artwork, size and quantity.
- Destination and required arrival date.
- Whether a physical sample is needed before bulk approval.
- Current approval status and the person making the final decision.
- Any testing, packing or delivery requirements already known.
If a date is fixed, tell us at the first enquiry. We can review the plan for your custom light boxes or LED neon signs and explain what still needs confirmation. A schedule is useful when its starting conditions and delivery scope are clear.
