RUOMEI / BUYER’S GUIDE
Double-Sided Neon Signs: Decide What Each Side Must Show
For a sign seen from both directions, give each viewing side its own brief. A transparent backing or visible light from the rear does not establish that the logo will read correctly from both sides. RUOMEI can review double-sided neon forms by project; the artwork, support and lighting still need to be agreed for the actual design.
Front-view product reference only. This photo shows a transparent backing; it does not show or confirm a double-sided construction. Request separate face views for a two-sided proposal.
1. Label the audiences before choosing the build
On a site photo or simple plan, mark Face A and Face B. State who sees each face: customers outside a window, customers inside the store, or people approaching from opposite ends of an aisle. Include the main viewing direction and the intended sign position.
This is more useful than asking for “double-sided” without a location. If one side faces a wall or is blocked by another display, identify that before a second viewing face becomes part of the quotation.
2. Approve the artwork as seen from each side
Supply a readable layout for each requested face, even when both should carry the same logo. Ask the drawing to identify each view from its viewer’s position. Do not use a single front-view proof as approval of what the reverse will show.
This is an artwork-planning example, not a construction drawing or a completed project. If the faces need different wording, submit both layouts for feasibility review rather than assuming every pair can share one structure.
3. Separate readable artwork from visible light
State whether both faces need a neon effect, what parts should illuminate and which elements may remain unlit. Seeing glow from the back is a different requirement from seeing a complete, correctly oriented logo there.
| Buyer requirement | What to request |
|---|---|
| Readable logo on both sides | Separate labelled face layouts and construction review. |
| Lighting on both viewing faces | Identify the illuminated lines or areas on each face. |
| Similar appearance from both positions | Review both sample views under agreed viewing conditions. |
| Different messages | Submit both artworks for feasibility review. |
Do not treat “double-sided” as a measured claim of identical brightness. Agree how the sample will be reviewed from both positions.
4. Review what remains visible between the faces
Ask the proposal to show the side profile, mounting position and cable exit along with both face views. Parts hidden in a wall-mounted front view may be visible in a window or aisle installation.
Send the mounting method, available space and power position. Identify any restriction on the overall depth or visible cables. These details belong in the proposed configuration; a product name or photograph cannot confirm them for your project.
5. Review both sides of the same sample
Request labelled views or video showing Face A, the side profile and Face B. Keep the sample reference and drawing version visible in the review record. Confirm the lettering orientation, illuminated details and visible support against the agreed layout.
If a change to one face affects the shared outline, support or lighting configuration, review the effect on the other face too. Approval of a front photograph should not close an unanswered question about the rear.
6. Send a two-face brief with the quote request
Start with vector artwork where available, size and quantity. Add the two viewing directions, the artwork for each face and a site photo. If the design is still open, mark the parts that must remain readable from each side.
Review our custom neon options and use the form below. Ask for a double-sided proposal to be reviewed against both face layouts, rather than assuming a transparent single-face design already meets the brief.
