RUOMEI / BUYER’S GUIDE

Before You Order a Custom Neon Sign: Confirm the Mounting and Cable Exit

The logo can be right while the installation is still wrong. Before production, show us where the sign will sit, how it will be supported and where power is available. These details belong in the approved configuration, not in a note sent after packing.

Unlit neon logo sign showing support frame, visible mounting slots and coiled connector cable

The unlit view makes the frame, mounting slots and cable easier to see. This product example does not specify the hardware, cable length or installation supplied with your order.

1. Start with a marked location photo

Photograph the whole installation area, not just the space inside the logo outline. Mark the sign position, the available width and height, and the nearest planned power point. Show counters, shelves and doors that affect access.

State whether you want the sign fixed to a wall, suspended, placed on a counter or held by a separate support. RUOMEI can review these arrangements by project. A reference sign on a stand does not mean that stand is included in every version.

If a shopfitter or installer is involved, ask them to confirm the mounting surface before the drawing is approved.

2. Separate the sign size from the fixing positions

Overall width and height describe the product envelope. They do not tell the installer where to put screws or suspension points. Request a rear or mounting view showing the proposed fixing locations and the reference edges used for dimensions.

Check that the drawing identifies which view you are looking at. “Left side” on a front view becomes the opposite side when viewed from behind. Use a marked drawing for the cable exit instead of relying on that phrase alone.

The correct fixing method depends on the actual support and installation surface. Do not select anchors or approve overhead support from a front product photograph.

3. Specify the cable route, not just a cable length

A straight-line distance from the sign to an outlet may be shorter than the route the cable must follow. Show the intended path around furniture or through the approved cable opening. Tell us where the visible cable should leave the sign.

Detail Information to send What to confirm
Cable exit Marked front/rear drawing Agreed position and viewing orientation
Cable route Site photo with a measured route Required length and which cable segment it describes
Power supply Proposed accessible location Placement and connection arrangement
Destination Country and project requirements Specified power supply and plug

RUOMEI confirms cable length to the project requirement and configures power supplies and plugs for the destination. The coil visible in a product photo is not a cable-length specification.

4. Decide where the power supply and controls will go

A hidden power supply still needs a suitable position and access. Include its proposed location in the brief and ask the installer to check the arrangement. If you need dimming, a remote or another lighting function, mention it before the configuration is final.

Ask the supplier to list the agreed controls and connections with the sign. Do not assume that a switch, remote or controller shown in another product photo is part of your order.

For an outdoor or exposed location, describe the conditions explicitly. RUOMEI reviews outdoor neon construction separately; an indoor configuration should not be treated as outdoor-ready because it is under an awning.

5. Separate store versions before bulk approval

One artwork file can serve several stores, but the installation details may differ. Some locations have power on the right; others have a concealed supply above the display. One store may allow wall fixing while another needs a suspended arrangement.

Use a simple site list: location name, quantity, mounting method, cable exit, required cable route and destination plug. Where every detail is identical, group the units. Where a detail changes, identify a separate configuration for review.

Approve the final artwork and mounting information together. Keep the accepted drawing revision with the order so the factory and installer work from the same version.

6. What to send with your enquiry

  • Logo or artwork, intended overall size and quantity.
  • Marked location photo and the proposed mounting method.
  • Power point, preferred cable exit and measured route.
  • Destination country, lighting controls and use environment.
  • Known differences between installation sites.

You do not need a finished installation drawing to start a conversation. Send what is known and identify what still needs the installer’s input. We can review the custom neon sign configuration with those open points clearly recorded.
